U.S. market spotlight

Kevin O'Sullivan, CEO of Nui Markets, will be spending time based out of the U.S., a signal of Nui's growing presence in U.S. dairy and the value placed on global connections. Find out what our CEO thinks about the future of dairy trading.

How is Nui leading the way with digital dairy trading?

Technology is commonplace in dairy, particularly in processing raw products into ingredients and end products to feed the world. This is the area that all producers focus on, and rightly so. Nui's purpose is to assist in better mechanisms for buying and selling dairy products around the globe, bringing benefits like real-time data, increased transparency of prices, and improved access to both products and buyers. We provide this all with a low-cost entry point with no ongoing support and maintenance required from our customers.

Specific to the U.S. market, how can Nui benefit buyers and sellers?

The U.S. market has quickly adopted Nui technology as they have a long history of trading commodities through exchanges, like the CME. However, Nui takes trading a step further, allowing flexibility with more nuances of the dairy trading environment incorporated within our digital trading platforms. We also bring visibility to the global picture as we are active in Europe and the APAC regions, providing more information to assist with the export and domestic trade mix.

How can Nui help U.S. companies become more prominent in global dairy trades?

Network, Nui has an extended network of buyers and sellers around the globe. The U.S. dairy market is in a unique global position to increase its production volume compared to many of its key competitors. The key to its success in the coming years is to expand its export reach and volumes; Nui can play a crucial part in this.

What is your vision for Nui in the future?

Our key focus is on the global dairy market. In the U.S., we see a huge opportunity to facilitate domestic trade and assist with the growing export desire of our customers. As a result, I am relocating for an extended period to the U.S. to be better placed to support our global team in activating our offering. Further in the future, we see Nui technology being used across multiple agricultural verticals and integrated further along the supply chain. We may have been around a few years now, but we still consider ourselves in the early stages of our life and like the technology we use, we will continue to develop and refine it and our approach to meet all our users' needs.
