Key responsibilities

The role has the following key responsibilities:

  • Plan for success - you will create and execute a business plan supporting our company strategy for produce, initially in New Zealand but with an opportunity to extend the reach in the future
  • Prospecting - generate prospects, qualify and build a healthy new business opportunity pipeline through networking, outbound calling, digital marketing campaigns and more
  • Attend trade show events
  • Sales execution – meeting client acquisition and revenue targets
  • Pipeline management and accurate forecasting - managing opportunities through pipeline stages, ensuring quantity, quality and velocity of the options meet the plan's objectives and targets
  • Attend and contribute to sales meetings - by being prepared, engaged and supportive of your peers
  • Represent Nui - uphold Nui’s values and represent our brand accordingly

Key skills and competencies

For this to be the right job for you, you'll need to have the following demonstrable experiences:

  • A strong understanding of New Zealand's produce market and key producers and markets
  • A background in primary sector trade and corporate technology with a deep understanding of sector trends, their application and relevance to clients
  • Commercially credible with the acumen to engage with C level executives and a strong problem-solving orientation
  • Experience selling strategic solutions within the Agri or produce sector
  • A successful sales track record, possessing the skills, methods, techniques and expertise across the sales cycle, including prospecting, relationship and opportunity development, qualification, negotiation and closing deals
  • A scientist of CRM tools, pipeline cadence and accurate forecasting
  • Strong presentation skills (both verbal and written)
  • A compelling presenter and storyteller, as well as an articulate communicator both oral and written, including proposal writing and responding to competitive tenders
  • Energetic self-starter with a high beat rate, can make good decisions and is motivated by targets and success.
  • An unrelenting focus on customers

Nui is a global company with employees spread across the world. This role will be based in Auckland, New Zealand. Travel within New Zealand, and potentially overseas will be required.
